Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has voiced strong support for sharia cooperatives to become a central pillar of the nation’s Islamic economy. This backing was expressed during the 3rd National Conference (MUNAS) of the Indonesian Sharia Cooperative Association (IKOSINDO). The move signals a growing strategic momentum for sharia cooperatives within the country’s financial landscape. The Minister emphasized the potential of these cooperatives to empower the Muslim community economically. IKOSINDO’s national conference aims to further develop strategies for strengthening and expanding the role of sharia cooperatives across Indonesia. This initiative aligns with broader government efforts to promote Islamic finance and inclusive economic growth.
