Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is actively researching the feasibility of producing next-generation solar panels domestically. This initiative aims to bolster the nation’s energy independence and reduce reliance on imports. The research focuses on perovskite and organic solar cells, considered more efficient and cost-effective alternatives to traditional silicon-based panels. BRIN is exploring the entire value chain, from raw material sourcing to final product manufacturing, and including the development of supporting infrastructure.
