Bank Indonesia’s (BI) West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Representative Office has documented 200 cross-border digital transactions using Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) at the anticipated 2026 Mandalika MotoGP event. This milestone indicates growing adoption of QRIS for international transactions within Indonesia. The transactions were facilitated through collaborations with various payment service providers. Officials at BI NTB express optimism that this success will drive further integration of digital payments in the region and beyond. The 2026 Mandalika MotoGP is expected to draw significant international visitors, providing further opportunities to showcase Indonesia's digital payment infrastructure. BI aims to continually enhance the QRIS ecosystem to support both domestic and cross-border commerce throughout West Nusa Tenggara and the nation. This initiative underscores Indonesia’s commitment to modernizing its financial systems and promoting financial inclusion.
