Indonesia’s Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, Mukhtarudin, oversaw the departure of 313 workers to Japan. These workers are participating in a labor program designed to address workforce gaps in Japan across various sectors. The deployment is part of a government-to-government agreement between Indonesia and Japan, focusing on sectors like manufacturing, agriculture, and services. Prior to departure, the workers received training and orientation to prepare them for life and work in Japan. Authorities emphasized the importance of protecting the rights and welfare of Indonesian migrant workers abroad. This initiative aims to provide employment opportunities for Indonesians while contributing to Japan’s economic needs. The program includes ongoing monitoring and support mechanisms for the workers throughout their contracts.
