Despite light rain, approximately one hundred Indonesians living in Switzerland gathered in Bern on Monday, August 17th, to commemorate Indonesia's 81st Independence Day. The celebration took place at the residence of Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, I Ngurah Swajaya. While the event marked a significant national occasion for the Indonesian community, reports indicate the flag was not raised during the ceremony. The gathering demonstrated the continued patriotism and community spirit of Indonesian citizens abroad. The Ambassador hosted the event, providing a venue for the diaspora to connect and celebrate their shared heritage. Despite the absence of a flag-raising ceremony, the event successfully fostered a sense of national pride among attendees.
