Indonesian organizations, including the Muslim Journalists Association (SAJID) and AQL Islamic Center, marked the upcoming Independence Day by initiating a large-scale social movement. The groups distributed 81,000 free meal packages and 81,000 basic food packages to those in need. This effort aims to embody the true spirit of independence, going beyond solely ceremonial celebrations. Bachtiar Nasir emphasized that commemorating independence requires more than just formal events. The initiative demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility and assisting vulnerable communities. Organizers hope this action will inspire a deeper understanding of independence—focused on self-sufficiency and collective welfare—among Indonesians. The project exemplifies a practical and community-focused approach to celebrating a national holiday.
