Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding the reach of the “Mangrove Ecosystem-Based Green Belt” (MBG) program, alongside broader digital infrastructure development, to remote regions of the country. The initiative aims to improve internet access and digital literacy in underserved areas, fostering economic growth and social inclusion. Raka emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector, and community stakeholders to ensure successful implementation. He highlighted the potential of MBG to not only protect coastal ecosystems but also to create economic opportunities for local communities through sustainable tourism and aquaculture. The Vice President made these remarks during a visit to coastal areas, underscoring the administration’s focus on equitable development across Indonesia’s vast archipelago. Further investment in base transceiver stations (BTS) is planned to bolster connectivity. The program seeks to bridge the digital divide and empower marginalized populations.
