Indonesia’s government has launched a new agricultural system, Modern Agriculture-Advanced Agriculture System (PM-AAS), with the goal of significantly increasing national rice production. Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman stated the system targets a yield of 12.4 tons of rice per hectare. PM-AAS focuses on modernizing farming techniques and improving agricultural practices across the country. The initiative aims to enhance food security and reduce reliance on rice imports. Implementation will involve providing farmers with training, superior seeds, and access to necessary resources. The government anticipates substantial improvements in efficiency and overall rice output through this comprehensive approach to agricultural development. Initial trials suggest promising results, fueling optimism for a successful nationwide rollout.
