India's maritime rescue agency reported a loss of communication with a Panama-flagged cargo vessel on Saturday. The ship subsequently sank off the coast of eastern India. There were 24 crew members on board at the time of the incident. The crew includes 20 Chinese nationals, three Myanmar nationals, and one Bangladeshi. In response, the Indian Coast Guard has initiated a search-and-rescue mission. Two vessels have been deployed for the operation from Sri Vijaya Puram. Commandant Amit Uniyal provided the details regarding the crew and the deployment. The coastguard continues its efforts to locate the missing sailors.
