Indecopi has officially declared the fees charged by Sunedu for the recognition of foreign academic degrees and titles to be illegal. The ruling mandates that Sunedu must cease applying these charges to all citizens once the resolution takes effect. Previously, individuals who studied abroad were required to pay S/ 1,188 to have their credentials recognized. This decision removes a financial barrier for professionals seeking to validate their international education within Peru. The resolution ensures a more accessible process for academic certification. Consequently, the administrative requirement for this specific payment is now void.
