Authorities in Tongi, Gazipur, Bangladesh, have arrested two individuals for allegedly keeping sixteen birds for online sale. The arrests followed a joint operation by police and the forest department on Tuesday, June 16th. Mohammad Ibrahim, 36, and Mahidul Islam, 18, were taken into custody from a residence in the Arichpur area. The operation was initiated following information received by the national emergency service, 999. The recovered birds are being held as evidence, and investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the birds and the extent of the illegal trade. Police Inspector Anwar Sattar confirmed the arrests and the ongoing investigation into the wildlife crime.
