A man in the Pardubice region of the Czech Republic is standing trial for the murder of his wife. Prosecutors allege the husband attempted to stage the death as a suicide. The indictment claims he incapacitated his wife with medication before suffocating her with a garbage bag. Following the act, he reportedly placed her body in a car where police later discovered it during a search. Investigators believe the motive for the killing was the husband’s affair with another woman. He faces a potentially lengthy prison sentence, including the possibility of an exceptional penalty. The case is currently being heard in the Regional Court of Pardubice.
