A newlywed woman in Narowal, Pakistan, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Hammad Sohail, who subsequently attempted to destroy evidence by setting her body on fire. Nida Shaheen’s brother, Ali Raza, reported to police that Sohail desired a second marriage and routinely tortured his wife. Following a reconciliation period after initially being driven from the marital home, a further dispute escalated into a fatal assault involving Sohail, his brother Bilal, and their parents, Sohail and Naseem. Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against all four family members, naming them as suspects in Shaheen’s death. The body has been transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are investigating the incident as a case of murder and arson, with legal proceedings underway.
