Eight people were killed and two injured in two separate traffic accidents that occurred within 40 minutes on Hungary’s M1 highway near Győr on Friday morning, June 12th. The first collision, reported at 4:30 AM near kilometer 114, involved a truck striking a piece of road equipment. Shortly after, a second accident occurred. Details of the second accident are currently limited, however, it involved a minibus registered in Moldova. Authorities are investigating the causes of both incidents, and traffic was disrupted following the crashes. The M1 highway is a major transit route in Hungary, connecting Budapest with Austria. This incident marks a significant loss of life on Hungarian roads.
