The “شقا الدار ماشي حكرة… شقا الدار حتى هو خدمة” (Household Labor is Not Exploitation… Household Labor is a Service) project, supported by UN Women, concluded in Casablanca, Morocco on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The project, carried out by the Al-Tahaddi Association for Equality and Citizenship, ran for 19 months, focusing on field work, advocacy, and communication surrounding unpaid domestic and care work. A press conference in Casablanca served to present the project’s findings and achievements. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the value of domestic labor and advocate for its recognition as legitimate work. The association released a statement detailing the project’s impact. This work addresses critical issues of gender equality and economic contribution within Moroccan households.
