Hong Kong’s annual Pride event has been cancelled for the second year in a row, this time due to an alleged administrative error resulting in the loss of their venue booking. The Hong Kong Pride Parade Organising Committee announced the cancellation on Thursday via Instagram, stating the issue occurred with their reservation at Central Market. The group previously held annual Pride parades in Hong Kong, but faced previous venue difficulties. This latest setback follows a pattern of challenges for the LGBTQ+ community’s visibility in Hong Kong. The committee did not specify further details regarding the "administrative error" that led to the venue being unavailable. The cancellation marks another disappointment for organizers and supporters hoping to hold a public demonstration of Pride in Hong Kong.
