Pardubice Regional Council has approved the purchase of a historic railway turntable originally dismantled from Prague’s Masaryk Station depot 22 years ago. The turntable had been in storage at a railway museum near Rakovník. The acquisition ensures the preservation of this significant piece of railway infrastructure. It will be relocated to a new railway museum in Dolní Lipka. There, it will be restored to its original function: turning locomotives. The purchase prevents the turntable from being scrapped and allows it to be showcased and utilized once more. This move contributes to the preservation of railway history in the Czech Republic.
