A unique pre-World War II infantry bunker, known as “Zahrada,” located in Šatov, Czech Republic, is undergoing extensive reconstruction to combat severe moisture damage. Originally built to defend against a potential Nazi invasion, the bunker is now battling deterioration from water infiltration. Experts from the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) are assisting with the preservation efforts, recognizing the site as a significant European historical landmark. The bunker, designated MJ-S 3, represents a rare example of pre-war Czechoslovakian fortifications. The reconstruction aims to stabilize the structure and prevent further decay. This project highlights the ongoing challenges of preserving historical military architecture. The ČVUT’s involvement underscores the importance of specialized expertise in heritage conservation.
