A truck fire and subsequent traffic collision have closed a major highway in the Czech Republic. The initial incident, a trailer fire, occurred on the D1 highway near Velký Beranov, Vysočina Region, around 6:30 PM Wednesday. This caused significant congestion, leading to a large traffic queue. Shortly after, a fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred within this queue, approximately four kilometers further along the highway. Authorities have closed the D1 in both directions to manage the situation and investigate the cause of the accident. The extent of injuries beyond the confirmed fatality is currently unknown. Traffic is being diverted, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
