Lieutenant Colonel Natanel Lasri, a highly-regarded Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) officer, has died at the age of 40 following a prolonged battle with cancer. Lasri most recently served as the head of planning for the Ground Forces Directorate. He previously commanded the Golani Brigade, a prominent infantry unit. A decorated officer, Lasri was a recipient of the Chief of Staff’s Citation for outstanding service. His death has prompted widespread mourning within the IDF and the defense establishment.
