Hanoi commenced construction today on a major infrastructure initiative encompassing three affordable rental housing projects and five new urban railway lines. The total investment for these projects exceeds 1.3 trillion Vietnamese Dong, equivalent to approximately $60 billion USD. The projects aim to address the city’s growing housing needs and improve public transportation options for residents. The urban rail component is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion within the capital. This large-scale development is being undertaken by a joint venture between Vinhomes and Vinspeed, acting as the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor. The commencement of these projects signals a substantial investment in Hanoi’s future infrastructure and urban development.
