A new exhibition at the Acropolis Museum, “Inspirations: Ancient Greek Art Living in Italy,” examines the enduring impact of Greek art on the Italian peninsula over three millennia. The exhibition, timed to coincide with the museum’s 17th anniversary, features 38 artworks, including 33 antiquities and five modern pieces. Many of these objects are being displayed outside of Italy for the first time. The exhibit details how Greek artistic concepts were adopted, modified, and reimagined by Italian artists and cultures. It highlights a long history of cultural exchange and influence between Greece and Italy. The collection offers a unique perspective on the evolution of art and its cross-cultural transmission.
