The government has decided to change the names of three newly formed unions in Bogra's Shibganj and Mokamotla upazilas. The unions will be renamed 'Mirbari', 'Simanto', and 'Diganto' based on the names of State Minister for Local Government Mir Shah Alam's sons and ancestral home. This decision follows a formal letter issued by the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday afternoon. Prior to the official correspondence, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reportedly contacted the Deputy Commissioner via telephone on Friday to discuss the matter. The move has drawn attention due to the personal nature of the naming choices. The administrative changes are now being implemented across the affected regions.
