Final results from the Gilgit-Baltistan elections are taking longer than anticipated to compile due to logistical challenges in remote areas, but the election commission assures a final notification will be issued within the legally mandated 14-day period. The election phase concluded peacefully, with Form 49 results already released for four constituencies. Nine petitions related to the election are currently under review by the commission, with hearings ongoing. Re-polling has been ordered in five constituencies, and results are pending in others. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) appears poised to form the government, having secured a majority with 11 of 24 seats in the Legislative Assembly, based on unofficial results. However, negotiations with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which won six seats, regarding a coalition government have so far been unsuccessful, with proposals sent to their respective central leaderships. Discussions also included broader political cooperation and national issues.
