Google’s Gemini Live, a conversational AI service, has introduced a new memory feature designed to enhance user experience. This update allows Gemini to retain information from previous turns in a conversation, enabling more contextually relevant and natural interactions. Previously, Gemini treated each prompt as a completely new request, lacking the ability to recall earlier details. The memory function is currently available for Gemini Advanced subscribers and is enabled by default. Users can review and edit the retained information, offering a degree of control over the AI’s understanding of the conversation. Google states this feature aims to make interactions with Gemini feel less repetitive and more akin to a continuous dialogue with a person. The company plans to expand the memory capabilities further in the future.
