Thousands demonstrated in London, Berlin, and Dublin on Saturday to protest against ongoing Israeli strikes on Gaza, marking three years since the initial bombing campaign responding to the October 7th attack. In London, marchers carried signs demanding an end to what they called a "genocide" and advocating for the liberation of Palestine. Speakers, including Aimee Shalan of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, criticized current Western sanctions as insufficient and called for comprehensive sanctions against Israel. While a ceasefire began a year ago, attacks have continued, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,450 Palestinians according to Gaza’s health ministry. Twenty arrests were made by London police, including individuals affiliated with the banned organization Palestine Action. Protesters emphasized the relevance of the conflict to global concerns and the importance of preventing historical repetition.
