Eleven people, including a family of five – a couple and their three children – were killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza on Sunday, despite a ceasefire reportedly in place since October 2025. The family was killed when their apartment in northwestern Gaza City was struck, with a sole surviving child not present during the attack. Israel’s military stated the strike targeted a Hamas terrorist, and is assessing the operation’s outcome. Witnesses report no warning was given before the strike, describing a scene of widespread devastation and numerous casualties. Separately, three others were killed in a strike on Zeitoun, and a woman was killed by artillery fire on a tent sheltering displaced persons, with multiple others injured or missing. The Al-Chifa hospital in Gaza confirmed the receipt of the bodies, raising concerns about continued violence despite the ceasefire agreement.
