A Vietnamese mechanic, Phan Thanh Tình, has been arrested in Vĩnh Long province after allegedly stealing approximately 83 taels of gold. The theft occurred at a gold shop in Long Châu ward. Investigators report Tình stole the gold to settle significant debts accrued through online gambling. Police discovered the crime during routine patrol and apprehended the suspect. The stolen gold’s value has not been disclosed, but represents a substantial amount.
