A rapid response team held a press conference regarding fuel supplies in Mongolia. As of September 30, 2026, a total of 59,000 tons of AI-92 gasoline, 188,570 tons of diesel fuel, and 11,000 tons of aviation fuel – totaling 257,000 tons of petroleum products – have been imported into the country. Currently, 13,000 tons of AI-92 gasoline are being transported by rail, representing 5-6 days of national consumption. Representatives from importing companies reported that supplies from Russia have decreased by 20-30% monthly, contributing to potential shortages. This has led to panic buying as consumers fear fuel depletion, unnecessarily filling tanks and queuing. Companies state sales are being temporarily halted as reserves diminish, and are attempting to maintain supplies, warning that the disparity between purchase and withdrawal rates is causing anxiety about potential shortages.
