Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has updated the maximum weekly amounts for the fuel subsidy program. Seven out of nine subsidy categories will see a decrease of approximately 3%. Notably, taxi drivers and artisanal fishermen will experience an increase of around 5% in their subsidy amounts. These updated values will be in effect from October 2nd to October 16th. The changes reflect adjustments in fuel prices and aim to provide continued support to vulnerable transportation sectors. The MEF continues to monitor market conditions to adjust the subsidy accordingly. This program is crucial for mitigating the economic impact of fluctuating fuel costs on key industries in Peru.
