French singer Patrick Bruel has been formally accused of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment following a large-scale investigation into sexual violence spanning France, Switzerland, and Belgium. The accusations stem from complaints made by at least 26 women, with investigations focusing on incidents dating back years. A 46-year-old actress recently filed a complaint alleging a 2000 attempted rape when she was 19. Bruel, 67, was arrested earlier this week and is currently cooperating with authorities, according to his lawyer. The case gained prominence after investigative journalists published accounts, including allegations from television presenter Flavie Flament, who claims she was drugged and raped by Bruel as a minor. Bruel denies all accusations and has cancelled all scheduled concerts until September. Prosecutors have identified thirteen potential victims, with further complaints emerging since the initial reports.
