Public water stations are providing free drinking water in Prague and eleven other locations across the Czech Republic as temperatures are forecast to exceed 30°C. The initiative, called Lokni, has set up stations at Prague’s main train station, Masaryk Station, Libeň Station, and the Florence bus station, among others. The project aims to improve access to chilled drinking water for individuals to refill their own bottles during the heatwave. These stations are strategically placed in areas with high pedestrian traffic where the need for hydration is greatest. Organizers say the effort is intended to help people stay safe and healthy during periods of extreme heat. The free water service will continue as long as the high temperatures persist.
