A forthcoming report by the French Court of Accounts assesses the effectiveness of policies designed to distribute asylum seekers across France. The audit focuses on two programs intended to alleviate pressure on the Île-de-France region, which receives a disproportionately high number of asylum applications and struggles with accommodation capacity. The report, to be published June 12th, examines how well these regional distribution efforts are functioning. It aims to evaluate whether the policies are successfully easing the burden on Paris and its surrounding areas. Findings will likely detail successes and shortcomings in the current system. The audit’s conclusions could inform future adjustments to France’s asylum seeker integration strategies. RFI has had early access to the report’s contents.
