Former Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces, Daniel Zmeko, participated in a humanitarian trip to Donbas and southern Ukraine as a volunteer. Traveling from Kharkiv to Zaporizhzhia, Zmeko met with soldiers from various brigades of the Ukrainian army. These visits were unannounced, and the general’s presence was reportedly well-received by the troops. This positive reception extended to a village located in the Donetsk Oblast. The trip allowed for discussions between the four-star Slovak general (retired) and commanders of Ukrainian brigades, fostering morale and demonstrating support. Zmeko expressed optimism about Ukraine’s resilience in the face of ongoing rocket attacks and the conflict.
