Former SGP Member of Parliament Roelof Bisschop may face prosecution for violating the Dutch trade ban on goods from Israeli settlements in the occupied territories. Bisschop publicly stated he intentionally purchased two bottles of Israeli wine shortly after the ban's implementation as a protest against the cabinet’s decision. Activists from the BDS movement have filed a report with the Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) based on his admission. The Dutch ban, enacted on September 22nd, prohibits not only importing but also purchasing goods from these areas. However, it remains unconfirmed whether the wine Bisschop purchased originated from the occupied West Bank. The winery, Teperberg, has vineyards located on the West Bank, but claims the specific wine he bought was produced in Shfelat Yehuda, within Israel, a claim supported by satellite imagery. Bisschop admits he doesn't know the exact origin of the “Teperberg Vision” wine.
