Former DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson has been found guilty of 18 historical sex offences. A jury at Newry Crown Court convicted the 63-year-old of one count of rape, 13 counts of indecent assault, and four counts of gross indecency. The crimes were committed against two women while they were children between 1985 and 2008. Both complainants provided evidence during the trial detailing the abuse. Additionally, his wife, Eleanor Donaldson, was found to have committed acts of aiding and abetting. Jeffrey Donaldson had previously pleaded not guilty to all charges. The verdict marks a dramatic fall for the former political figure.
