A former Deputy Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, T.Davaadalai, will remain in pre-trial detention for one additional month, following a court decision. The extension was granted after prosecutors presented evidence suggesting continued risk of evidence tampering or concealment related to bribery allegations. T.Davaadalai is accused of receiving bribes through intermediaries in exchange for fulfilling his official duties. The District Court reviewed the case materials, prosecutor and defense arguments, and determined the grounds for the initial detention – preventing the destruction of evidence – still applied. The detention was extended until July 22nd, 2026. This decision follows a request from the city prosecutor’s office to extend the preventative measure. The court’s summary clarifies it does not replace the full court decision and is for public information purposes.
