A Flydubai flight, FZ1073 from Dubai, was diverted to Tabuk airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia after the pilots reportedly engaged in a physical altercation. The aircraft initially transmitted a general emergency signal while flying over Jordanian airspace, followed by a signal indicating possible unlawful interference. Israeli officials confirmed the incident was not a hijacking, clarifying that the emergency signals stemmed from the dispute between the two pilots. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli military officials held consultations regarding the diverted flight. Flydubai has not yet released a statement. The flight normally operates daily between Dubai and Tel Aviv, a popular route for Israeli travelers, despite the lack of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel. It remains unclear if the emergency signal was transmitted intentionally by either pilot.
