A Russian attack on a shopping center in the Ukrainian city of Pavlohrad resulted in five fatalities and 67 injuries, including three teenagers, according to Ukrainian authorities. The strike occurred during daylight hours when the area was populated. The type of weapon used is still under investigation, but two emergency responders were also among the wounded. This attack on Pavlohrad was part of a larger Russian offensive affecting five districts of the city, utilizing drones, artillery, and air bombs, with a total of 76 people injured. Pavlohrad, a crucial rail and logistics hub for eastern Ukraine, previously considered relatively safe, has seen a deterioration of security in recent months. President Zelenskyy condemned the attack as “Russian terrorism” following a similar incident in the city of Sumy, where a shopping center was also struck, resulting in casualties. Russia denies targeting civilians.
