Finnish hockey club Jokerit Helsinki Oy experienced a loss of over 500,000 euros despite a 100,000 euro increase in revenue to approximately 5.28 million euros for the 2025-2026 season. Club Chairman Mikko Saarni and part-owner Ossi Väänänen discussed the team’s performance and finances in a video released on YouTube. A significant portion of the expenditure, exceeding half a million euros, was allocated to the club’s junior development program. While ticket revenue was lower than anticipated, the organization prioritized investment in its youth system. These figures are preliminary and will be finalized following the company’s financial statement confirmation at the August shareholders’ meeting. The financial report covers both Jokerit Helsinki Oy and its subsidiary, Ilmala Shops Oy. The club leadership emphasized the importance of long-term development through junior hockey despite the financial setback.
