A Finnish entomologist has stated that mosquito nets are the most effective method for preventing mosquitoes from entering homes. Professor Marko Mutanen of the University of Oulu explains that there is no quick fix for avoiding the irritating buzzing of mosquitoes near the ear as one attempts to sleep. According to Mutanen, mosquitoes are attracted indoors by humans themselves, making avoidance challenging. He suggests focusing on preventative measures rather than seeking reactive solutions after mosquitoes have already entered. The issue is a common summertime frustration for many Finns. The expert’s advice centers on proactive protection using physical barriers like nets. There are no other readily available solutions to eliminate the problem.
