The Technical University of Liberec (TUL) and Diakonia Broumov have collaborated to repurpose used wristbands from the Rock for People festival. Thousands of wristbands, typically discarded after the event, were transformed into designer tabletops by the TUL’s textile evaluation department. This initiative addresses waste reduction by giving the festival memorabilia a second life. The newly created tabletops are now being utilized by festival attendees, creating a circular economy within the event. The project demonstrates an innovative approach to sustainability and design. It highlights a practical solution for managing festival waste and enhancing the visitor experience. This collaboration showcases the potential for transforming discarded materials into functional and aesthetically pleasing items.
