Fifty-four bags of non-urea fertilizer vanished from the Chuadanga Sadar Upazila Parishad compound, specifically near a mosque where it was stored by the Department of Agricultural Extension. The disappearance was discovered on Sunday, August 23rd, during the scheduled distribution of subsidized fertilizer to farmers. Facing demands from frustrated farmers, the Upazila Agriculture Office purchased replacement fertilizer and distributed it later that afternoon. The stolen fertilizer was intended as an agricultural incentive. Chuadanga Sadar Agriculture Officer, Mo. Anisur Rahman, filed a general diary with Chuadanga Sadar Police Station regarding the theft on Sunday night. Further investigation is expected to determine how the fertilizer was stolen and prevent future incidents.
