Everest Medicines has secured exclusive rights to develop and commercialize Sumecigrel, a novel antiplatelet drug, throughout most of the Asia-Pacific region. The licensing agreement was established with Jiangsu Vcare Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Sumecigrel is currently in Phase III clinical trials for acute coronary syndrome and is designed to prevent blood clots. This partnership significantly expands Everest Medicines’ cardiovascular product portfolio, addressing a critical unmet medical need in the region. The deal includes an upfront payment, milestone payments tied to development and commercialization progress, and royalties on future sales. Everest Medicines intends to accelerate the drug’s availability to patients across Asia-Pacific, pending regulatory approvals. This collaboration represents a key strategic move for Everest Medicines in strengthening its position within the cardiovascular therapeutics market.
