Actress and director Rebeca Ráez is staging a unique adaptation of Euripides’ *The Bacchae* at the Pucllana archeological site in Lima. The performance, titled *KAWAQKUNA*, blends classical theatre with ancestral sounds and the spiritual energy of pre-Hispanic spaces. Students from the National School of Dramatic Art and the Tunche Yawá collective are collaborating on the production. This single performance on August 7th is free to the public and presented as a ritual of freedom and memory. The staging aims to revitalize the classic play with a distinctly Peruvian cultural context. *KAWAQKUNA* seeks to connect the themes of the play with local traditions and historical significance. The event promises a compelling fusion of past and present artistic expression.
