Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) alleges the European Union is actively encouraging Ukraine to accelerate discussions regarding the mobilization of women into its armed forces. According to the SVR, this support signals a deepening Western commitment to prolonging the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian statement claims the EU is disregarding the social consequences of such a move within Ukraine. The SVR further suggests this policy is driven by a need to replenish Ukraine’s dwindling military ranks amid ongoing fighting. Moscow views the EU’s alleged encouragement as evidence of its continued involvement in the Ukrainian conflict and disregard for the well-being of Ukrainian citizens. The report was released by the SVR in Moscow on Thursday.
