The European Court of Auditors (ECA) annual report reveals that the estimated error rate in European Union (EU) expenditure remains excessively high. The error rate increased to 3.8 percent, up from 3.6 percent the previous year. ECA member for Česká republika, Jan Gregor, stated that the audit uncovered seventeen suspected fraud cases during the last year. According to sources from the ČTK news agency, one of these cases involved Česká republika. This indicates ongoing challenges in managing EU funds effectively and preventing financial irregularities. The report underscores the need for improved controls and oversight of EU spending. The ECA continues to monitor and assess the accuracy of financial reporting related to the EU budget.
