The 27th annual Gnaoua Festival in Essaouira, Morocco, concluded overnight from Saturday to Sunday, June 27-28. The three-day event showcased and celebrated Gnaoua culture, an ancient tradition that faced potential extinction before the festival’s founding in 1998. This year’s festival featured 50 concerts and the participation of 500 artists. The event aimed to preserve and promote this unique cultural heritage. Brazilian star Carlinhos Brown headlined the final concert, bringing a vibrant energy to the festival’s close. Organizers are currently compiling a full assessment of the festival’s impact and attendance.
