Fifty years after the daring Entebbe rescue operation, Shai Gross, known as “the boy from Entebbe,” held a special thanksgiving Kiddush. The event commemorated the liberation of hostages in 1976. During a ceremony at the President’s Residence, the granddaughter of Miriam Perez received a citation recognizing her contributions. A high school student also presented a special gift to his teacher, demonstrating intergenerational connection to the historical event. The anniversary serves as a moment to remember the bravery of the rescuers and the resilience of those saved. The celebrations highlight themes of gratitude, remembrance, and continued community spirit.
