Egypt is planning to construct a $1 billion artificial intelligence data center utilizing technology from Nvidia. The project, announced by Cairo, aims for an eventual capacity of 200 megawatts. This development occurs as the United States restricts China’s access to advanced AI technologies, creating an opening for other nations. Previously, Beijing had expressed interest in collaborating with Egypt on artificial intelligence initiatives. The new data center signifies Egypt’s ambitions in the growing field of AI and its navigation of international technological competition.
